Description

The song “Non à l’injustice” was written during music therapy sessions with survivors of the Conakry stadium massacre on 28 September 2009, including survivors of sexual violence, and the support of Make Music Matter, an NGO that uses the creative process as a therapeutic tool to help empower marginalised individuals and communities. The survivors from the network Association des Victimes, Parents et Amis du 28 septembre 2009 (AVIPA) worked with psychologists from Panzi Hospital and a local artist to write the lyrics, calling for justice and the opening of a court case which finally took place on 28 September 2022, 13 years after the events. This artwork was featured in the 2023 SEMA Collective Memory Exhibition ‘We Are Speaking, Are You Listening?’ in Nairobi, Kenya.

Produced by: Moise Keoulen Gbanamou – Joseph Aganze & George Mupemba “Jojo”; Mixed by: Robbie Grunwald; Mastering: Joe Lambert at Joe Lambert Mastering; Cover art: Marc Leardi, NULL & VØID Design.
