Description

The museum ‘Casa de la Memoria’ seeks to promote the relationship between the past and the present as a way of learning about and addressing the structural problems we are currently experiencing, contributing to the re-signification of history and memory, promoting awareness-raising spaces for young high school students, based on processes focused on building a culture of peace. Along these lines, the “Exhibition on Guatemala” was created, presenting the history of Guatemala, including the resistance of indigenous peoples, women and youth and the continuum of violence in a perspective of racism, discrimination, and other forms of oppression. The exhibition also highlights this history’s entanglement with current life stories and reflects the experiences of those who survived the genocide and sexual violence.

The museum offers an immersive virtual experience, allowing visitors to explore its exhibits from anywhere. You can visit it here.
