In memory of Ana Pacheco RamÃrez, Survivor of Sexual Violence.
Through participation in the networks and collectives, our resilience grew, as did our convictions and the importance of working towards the pursuit of justice and historical memory. We continue working to pave the way for justice, to reclaim ‘the absence of human dignity for women victims of sexual violence,’ and to emphasize the importance of continuing to critically reflect on the continuum of violence against women and Indigenous peoples. May the voice of Ana Pacheco remain a precedent in the justice system and for future generations.
Today we continue to say “the effort is not exhausted” the struggle of SEMA is to vindicate and dignify women who seek true justice, prompt and fulfilled, that it flourishes, “that dawn breaks” “that it never happens again” together we will build fullness of life “spaces free of all types of violence” -Ixim Ulew- Guatemala.
Ana was a fighter: as a mother she was loving, a wife, a counsellor, she carried everything in her hand together with the search for justice.
